Design : Donna Ruff

Love these paper cuts from artist Donna Ruff. An awesome use of old newspapers, if you ask me, is turning them into works of art you would love to display in your home or office.

Design : Corner Bistro Branding

One of my favorite restaurants in Wilmington has to be Corner Bistro, so imagine how excited Nic and I were when we were brought in to re-design the logo, menu's, business cards and the rest of the branded materials. We took inspiration from 19th century Parisian Cafe's and infused it with Mid-Century Modern design elements. Clean and modern meets casual charm.  Working with a color palette inspired by elements of the Restaurants interior of clean, fresh whites, warm marble grey's and cheerful pops of tangerine orange, here is what we created.

Design : The Military iCA

I'm seriously excited about this iPhone case, yes, that's right, it's an iPhone case that looks like an old Leica-once it's on your iPhone 4 or 4s, you can use the viewfinder, the shutter actually works and you can buy additional lenses. The center lens is a self portrait mirror, and there is a small hot shoe on top for an eventual flash. Seriously, this is the coolest iPhone case I've ever seen and I love the matte black style. I'm super stoked that we're carrying them at fourcornerstore.com, and even happier that I'm first in line when they arrive this week!

Design : Laura Shema & The Adorabilibuddies

For those of you unaware of the tour de force of artistic awesomeness that is Laura Shema, well, do I have a treat for you! I commissioned Laura to illustrate my four cats in her own unique style and boy, did Laura nail it. What I love about these prints is how Laura was able to absolutely capture the unique personalities of my four very different felines. And that's the remarkable and intangible quality to Laura's work that is so incredible, how she can illustrate the essence of an individual.
Laura isn't limited to cat portraits, she does incredible portraits of people for wedding invitations and holiday cards, private commissions, editorial work, fashion illustration as well as fine art.
Gracie, the oldest, and the most refined. Gracie truly is the little lady. And yes, Gracie usually sits quite refined with her little paws crossed, and the contented smirk on her face is spot on!
Husky, Lively, Happy-go-lucky Lil Man is wide eyed, affectionate and always ready to play.
My darling Peach Cat...it's often whispered that our skinny little neurotic huntress is an alien species. If Peach were an actress, she would be Tilda Swinton. In fact, Peach MAY BE Tilda Swinton....
My sweet, shy little Bella, the baby of the group. She is even tempered, petite and quite thoughtful. She's very shy, but a cuddle monster when you least expect it!

Design : The Ultra Wide & Slim for FourCornerStore.com

I rarely post my design work for some reason, but I couldn't resist posting the packaging I designed for the Limited Edition Ultra Wide & Slim from FourCornerStore.com. And I woke up this morning to discover it was featured on the front page of HighSnobiety.com! I've also included more branded materials from FourCornerStore.com, which is made up of Raw Materials, Kraft & Butcher Paper, Twine, Muslin Bags and printing methods including rubber hand stamping and screenprinting for an old fashioned, analog approach and look to our packaging.

Pretty Packaging

I have a confession to make. I'm a sucker for good packaging. Take me to any boutique, grocer or shoppe and if the packaging is beautiful, quirky or eye-catching, I'll buy it, regardless of what it is. There, I feel so much better now that I no longer carry the shame of product vanity.

These are just plain, white gumballs, but the packaging-only 3 colors, makes it look like adorable kittens....needless to say, i'm smitten with the kitten gumballs!
