Jubilee Portraits : Newlyweds Katie & Steve

Katie and I have been friends for years, we like to hang out, eat Mexican, snuggle kitties and laugh as often as possible, so when she and Steve had a day off right before the big Cherry Blossom festival in DC, where they call home, I had to visit. Since we hadn't had a chance to do engagement photos & we finally had a day where all 3 of us could hang out, it was great to hang out and capture some casual photos of the newlyweds that really capture the fun, silly, offbeat city dwellers that they are!
While they call DC home, we wanted to avoid anything overly DC oriented. Instead, we allowed the city's icons to casually drop in to our photos if we happened to be strolling in that area...

Katie is very tall, so naturally, we had a split second of silliness with this fun house...

Despite some rainy weather, we ventured toward the sculpture garden, where they had their very first date, and then we laughed our way to the Cherry Blossoms for a few quick shots before dusk set in and the rain started again.
Katie, channeling Abe Lincoln, General Custer...

Katie has a really wonderful new fashion blog, Today I Want, so be sure to check it out! She's one of my real life fashion inspirations, and she's got un amazing knowledge of vintage fashion, and many of her outfits are affordable. Just another reason why I heart Katie!

How amazing is this shoot?! So many great things about it. The colours, the flowers, the locations, the couple. They are so cute together. You did such a wonderful job capturing them.
