Home Decor : Dark Shadows
I remember a while back when my virtual friend & gifted designer Amy of ABCD Design fame did a post on black walls and it struck me as something I had never given much thought to, but really became smitten with the idea. I love the dramatic, glam goth feel of these beautiful rooms. Whether you keep it monochromatic or throw a splash of bright color, I'm loving these dark, beautiful rooms, which seem perfect for curling up for a long winters nap.

Home Decor : Get Tufted
I'm going through a phase where I want to redecorate everything, or I want to move or get a 2nd house just so I can decorate. I'm currently loving soft tufted upholstery. I'll take one of each please!

Custom Invitations : Katie & Steve
I rarely post any Milkmaid Press work on the blog, even though it's what keeps me the busiest, but after visiting with my friend (and client) Katie the other day for the first time after her wedding, I thought I would share her custom invitations as a little something different. Katie's invitations were custom designed and printed on my Luxury for Less Smooth Eco-Matte Cotton blend cover stock.
Katie and I have been friends for a long time. We met on a movie set and quickly bonded, and over the years, have remained close, so when she asked me to design her wedding invitations for her intimate, private DC Dinner Party reception this past November, I was beyond excited. Katie is every artists dream client. She's creative, unique and completely understands and appreciates the creative process. Plus, she's got a killer fashion sense and an amazing knowledge and love of anything vintage. When we sat down to mull over ideas for her stationery, she knew she wanted something quirky but beautiful, that reflected her and her fiance Steve's love of the Vintage, but was still swanky and dreamy. Nothing overly wedding like, but still, very much celebrating their marriage. We worked with a few vintage poster designs and finally settled on the warm reds and golds of this beautiful vintage illustration!

Boudoir Inspiration : Rachel Weisz
I am in love with these gorgeous photos of the always stunning (and highly underrated) Rachel Weisz for British Esquire by Greg Williams. This is proof that boudoir can be sultry and clothed and gritty and grainy and still be unfathomably sexy and sultry. Love the fishnets, the modest black almost-granny panties and black cardigan. My favorite Rachel Weisz movie has to be About a Boy with Hugh Grant, and the soundtrack is awesome. Buy the movie, download the music. Do it, and have a wonderful weekend!

Jubilee Engagements : Sarah & Chris
Towards the end of November, Nic and I ventured up to the Big Apple for a little rest, a little relaxation and of course, a little work! Luckily, I love working and the engagement session with Sarah and Chris was such a wonderful way to spend a Saturday. We started off in Central Park then took a Cab to Sarah & Chris's neighborhood where we stopped by Burdick's Chocolaterie for a little warmth, and some photos.

Haute Boudoir : Lady D
I go into some boudoir sessions with a firm idea of what I want the shoot to look like, while others, sort of arise from the moment. With Lady D, I wanted something slightly girly and retro, with a little nod to vintage Marilyn Monroe-not the super glam black and white stuff, but the soft, warm grainy and romantic pictures of Bert Stern that showcase a sweet but still very sexy lady. All women have different sides to our personalities, and Lady D and I wanted to explore her soft, shy, sultry girly-girl side as a surprise Christmas present to her husband.
Isn't Lady D simply stunning, can you believe she's normally camera shy?
