Memorial Day

For many, Memorial Day is a day off of school or work, a day to get together and celebrate the beginning of summer with roadtrips, picnics, bbq's, parties and the like, but I want to take a little time today to remember and celebrate those who are no longer with us, loved ones and strangers, those who served our country, and those who served another purpose.

Today is a day to remember and give thanks, and to ponder over how we would want to be remembered, and by doing that, hopefully we will make the world a better place than we found it.

Haute Boudoir : Sue

I met Sue through makeup artist Kristen Lober. Sue wanted to get her fiance something different, so Kristen suggested she look into an Haute Boudoir session. With less than a month until her May wedding, we met up, had an amazing shoot and produced a 20 page 8x10 book of gorgeous Sue just in time for her wedding. Needless to say, she said he was rendered "speechless" when she presented him with a book on their wedding night.

Jubilee Engagements : Shannon & Chris

Meet Shannon and Chris, a truly awesome couple. I'm really looking forward to their September wedding this Fall in Annapolis. For the Engagement Session, we met in NYC (they live in FLA) since NYC was their very first trip together, we thought it would be fitting to take a stroll down memory lane, starting with a stroll down the extremely crowded Brooklyn Bridge!
We had a ridiculous amount of fun all over New York City a few Saturdays ago, which is one of the main reason's I love Engagement Sessions, I really get to know the couples, and they get to know me, which makes for a more relaxed wedding day.

One of their first trip activities including riding bicycles through Central Park, so we borrowed an Orange and Turquoise bike for the couple to match their college colors, but we thought it might be a bit more interesting if Chris took Shannon for a little ride...
This might have been Chris' favorite part of the day. There are no words to describe this man's love for NYC pizza. And we found a cute hole in the wall between Grammercy and LES.

Modcloth Bridesmaid

Weddings can get pricey, and one of the reason's Nic and opted not to have a bridal party was because I didn't want to make any of my friends buy a whole bunch of things, since it seemed like every bridesmaid dress was several hundred dollars. I love the dresses at ModCloth, and despite my chagrin for the current mid thigh grazing skirt, these styles are absolutely stunning and would make beautiful bridesmaid dresses your friends and relatives would happily wear again!

Mixed UnMatched

Not everything has to match or go to look cool or interesting. When I was little, I once paired a crochet sunsuit (think bathing suit, only made of wool, yeah, i know) with earmuffs, jelly kitten heals and a puffy coat. Take a cue from your younger self and have a little fun with fashion!

Real Wedding by Elisabeth Millay

This wedding was sent to me by one of my favorite wedding photographers, Elisabeth Millay, of the lovely Dominican wedding of Belinda and Josh. Elisabeth's photos are so translucent, I can almost feel the warm breeze of this soft, beautiful island celebration!

Thank you so much Elisabeth for sharing this stunning wedding with ATL-you have a true gift for capturing the beauty of the day, and it's an honor to have you on the blog!
