Aquarelle from Pearl by Milkmaid Press

With the success of Pearl by Milkmaid Press, my luxury for less line of wedding stationery, I've been working hard designing new suites for Spring/Summer. I've already posted Kaleidoscope and have a few orders for it. A few more will debut within the next few weeks, along with new products, so keep checking back. Here is the latest release from Pearl by Milkmaid Press, Aquarelle. Aquarelle, which is a french term for "watercolor" is just that-a soft abstract watercolor floral pattern on our shimmery pearl paper.

A Site to Dwell On...

I don't really think I have one particular style, which is easy with clothing and design, but difficult when it comes to home decor. Which is why I'm pretty sure I was destined to be ridiculously wealthy, so I could have boatloads of homes, all different styles, and decorate them accordingly. I'm currently enjoying these zen-vintage orinthology "Chinoiserie" bed linens from Dwell Studio.

Little Miss Laura

I had a photo shoot in Virginia, and spent some time with my awesome friend Laura. Laura was kind enough to give me a place to stay, take me to a concert and give me a surrogate cat to love since I was without my beloved Gracie! Here are some fun shots we snapped before I left on the train, headed for home!

Purse Quest

I'm on another impossible search...purses! I have some fun, costume purses, but I'm on the hunt for a tried and true everyday bag. I have a Tod's Leather Bag I love, but it's suffering from long standing daily abuse, so I'm looking to give it a rest, maybe have it reconditioned, and in the meantime, introduce a new everyday purse to my team roster. I've started looking around, at varying price points, and I found myself getting easily distracted at Lilac Bijoux! I have the most adorable snakeskin cinching wallet from Lilac Bijoux (they have a store in Belvedere Square in Baltimore) so I thought that I might see what I could find in terms of everyday bags from there!

And they also have really great jewelry!

Pink Blossom List

The always sweet and extremely talented Nancy Liu Chin emailed me announcing her newest venture, The Pink Blossom List. This list is a really great resource for brides, and anyone out there who is interested in great event design and more. The list features Nancy's favorite vendors from all over who are experienced, talented and passionate about what they do. It is also a great resource for brides out there who are interested in inspiration that is realistic and approachable, you don't have to be very crafty or a big DIY-er to pull off the inspiration Nancy has collected!

The Pink Blossom List is for real brides and real people who love looking at beautiful imagery and finding inspiration that anyone and everyone can appreciate and achieve. Thanks Nancy!

Flat Footed

I've been looking everywhere for a shoe that I'm convinced only exists in my mind. I do this all the time-I want something that doesn't seem to exist, but I swear I've seen it somewhere. The good thing is that I can get distracted with other, similar items and it makes for a nice little shopping hunt. The prey in this situation? A pair of simple snakeskin ballet flats I know I saw at Banana Republic. Maybe it was last year, maybe it was actually J.Crew, or maybe, I had a dream I saw a gorilla wearing them while having tea with my kindergarten teacher. Who knows, but if you seem them, let me know. In the meantime, enjoys these cute shoes from Piperlime.

Something Dark

I can girly and all, but I definitely have a darker side, and these fragrances, candles and other interesting goods from D.L. & Company really sang to that part of me to like the haunting music of a Danny Elfman score....Love everything, from the exquisite packaging to the hauntingly beautiful skull candy...and the Seven Deadly Sins collection is lovely on so many levels. The Modern Alchemy Collection is fabulous, and I found myself wanting one of everything. I'm not a fan of music on websites-i find them distracting and unnecessary, but the soft piano music on this site is intoxicating and makes me want to buy it on itunes! It's dark, it's gothic, it's romantic, it's victorian, it's brilliantly designed and it's my latest obsession!

Happy Easter

Good Friday has always meant something a little more to me. I was originally born on Good Friday, and my mother refers to it as "my actual birthday" for personal reasons. She also always made us go to Church on Good Friday, so we would understand why Easter was such a joyous time. When I think of Easter, I think of bright colors, Easter Eggs, Peeps, the Bunny and just a feeling of Springtime merriment. But Good Friday was more of day to reflect on my spirituality, sacrifice, the importance of family and friendship and the true meaning of giving. Good Friday isn't like Easter, it's somber, yet reflective and I really appreciate all that it represents. I'm always happy to get my Good Friday phone call from my Mom, who after 29 years still sings me "Happy Birthday" when she calls.  So whoever you are and whatever you do or don't believe, have a wonderful Easter, and of course, a Good Friday.

The Fish Hook

I will be gone most of the week. I'm off to Richmond VA for a little work, a lot of fun and some much needed R&R!
Without further ado, I present Ethan and Brandon Hudson in, The Fish Hook (or for those of you who prefer a fancier, more French noir feel, may I also present, Le Fish Hook)

Allison + Kevin

Allison + Kevin were married on March 14 at Old Swedes Church in Wilmington, which a beautiful, centuries old stone church downtown, complete with cobblestone streets and a hauntingly beautiful cemetary. Allison and Kevin couldn't have been a sweeter, kinder or more laid back couple, and I had a blast getting to know Allison (the Magnolia design from Pearl Press was a source of inspiration for her wedding) and on the wedding day, everyone involved was so kind, generous and happy to celebrate. Despite a week long threat of rain, St. Patricks Day parade roadblocks, detour and delays and all the St. Paddy's Day parties (the Reception was a block away from the Big St. Patricks Day Multi-Bar Loop!), we managed to stay dry, get some great photos and have a whole lot of fun!

Aren't her shoes adorable? Anthropologie!
The flowers are from Wild Thyme in Centerville, Delaware

Kevin and his Dad, getting ready before heading off to the Church. Both men are big Saab fans, so we snuck a few shots of them with the car, and of course a few surprise details!

The Reception was held at the Delaware Center for Horticulture, and the rustic, natural decor really worked beautifully!
